NZ Keep it Kiwi believes that while Foreign Crews are fishing in NZ waters they should enjoy the Human rights we New Zealanders take for granted.

 

On any boat working in New Zealand waters we believe no crew should be subjected to ABUSE, STARVATION, SEXUAL HARASSMENT or forced to work such long hours that accidents happen due to fatigue.

 

Also it has come to our attention that many of these Crews are not getting paid the NZ minimum wage that they are entitled to under the "Code of Practice"..NZ Keep it Kiwi supports fair payment of foreign crews as the NZ fishing Companies are bound to do under the Industry "Code of Practice on Foreign Fishing Crews" (19th October 2006) created by the NZ Dept of Labour, the NZ Seafood Industry and the NZ fishing Industry Guild.
